As part of its unprecedented partnership with the Educational Theatre Foundation (ETF), Broadway’s new musical comedy THE PROM is pleased to announce the winner of its “Dance with You” contest, Alaina Bozarth, a junior and three-star member of Thespian Troupe 8167 at Metro-East Lutheran High School in Worden, Illinois, south of Springfield.

Bozarth won tickets to THE PROM as part of a two-night trip to New York, including air fare and a stay at The Time Hotel for herself and a companion. A highlight of the prize is the opportunity for Bozarth to have a one-on-one session with a member of THE PROM creative team plus get an exclusive behind the scenes look at THE PROM in the Longacre Theatre.

The contest invited students nationwide to submit a video with their personal rendition of the song “Dance with You” from THE PROM, which tells the story of a small town girl who is being sidelined in her efforts to bring her girlfriend to the prom, inspiring a group of Broadway stars to help them out.

Bozarth is an honor Thespian in her hometown of 1,000. In thanking the producers of THE PROM and ETF for this opportunity she said, “I love this song because it teaches us to be ourselves no matter what others think.”

Producer Jack Lane said, “Bill Damaschke, Dori Berinstein, and I are so pleased with the success of the national “Dance with You” contest. Spreading the embracive message of THE PROM across the country has been a joy for us. We send warm congratulations to Alaina and look forward to seeing her very soon at THE PROM.”

Julie Cohen Theobald, president of ETF said, “We are so excited and grateful to THE PROM for pioneering this type of partnership. Thanks to you this high school student will have an unforgettable experience learning first-hand from theatre professionals, and the generous donation from the proceeds of your ticket sales will help enhance theatre education experiences for countless more students in their schools.”
