
As part of its unprecedented partnership with the Educational Theatre Foundation (ETF), Broadway’s new musical comedy THE PROM is pleased to announce the winner of its “Dance with You” contest, Alaina Bozarth, a junior and three-star member of Thespian Troupe 8167 at Metro-East Lutheran High School in Worden, Illinois, south of Springfield.
Bozarth won tickets to THE PROM as part of a two-night trip to New York, including air fare and a stay at The Time Hotel for herself and a companion. A highlight of the prize is the opportunity for Bozarth to have a one-on-one session with a member of THE PROM creative team plus get an exclusive behind the scenes look at THE PROM in the Longacre Theatre.
The contest invited students nationwide to submit a video with their personal rendition of the song “Dance with You” from THE PROM, which tells the story of a small town girl who is being sidelined in her efforts to bring her girlfriend to the prom, inspiring a group of Broadway stars to help them out.
Bozarth is an honor Thespian in her hometown of 1,000. In thanking the producers of THE PROM and ETF for this opportunity she said, “I love this song because it teaches us to be ourselves no matter what others think.”
