Nominate an outstanding educator for an EdTA award

Over the past two years, theatre teachers have shown incredible creativity, resilience, innovation, and dedication to keep their programs going. For some, that’s just the latest accomplishment of many in their teaching careers.

The April 1 application deadline for 2021-22 EdTA awards is rapidly approaching, so if you know any stellar educators who deserve special recognition for their work shaping lives through theatre education, please consider nominating them for one of the following awards:

  • Stephen Schwartz Musical Theatre Teacher of the Year: Presented by The ASCAP Foundation and EdTA, this award recognizes the highest level of achievement for a high school or middle school musical theatre teacher. Bonus: It comes with a $5,000 cash prize!
  • EdTA Hall of Fame: It’s the capstone to an amazing theatre teacher’s career. The Hall of Fame award is presented annually to up to five teachers who have dedicated 20 or more years to theatre education. Hall of Fame winners are in excellent company – see past honorees.
  • Inspirational Theatre Educator: This ITS award recognizes up to three teachers who have inspired their students and dedicated themselves to providing quality theatre education, regardless of tenure. Nominate an educator now!

Winners will receive an award, recognition on EdTA’s website, and celebration at EdTA events.
