Want to get more involved with EdTA beyond your troupe or professional membership? EdTA offers a variety of ways to give back, lead within the organization, and help advance the theatre education community at large.

You can help make our association stronger by lending your time and talents to an area you care about — explore the available opportunities below.

Committees

EdTA steering committees advise on key association programs. Committees have two- to three-year terms and require attendance at several meetings per year plus supporting work on the committee’s initiatives. The following committees are currently accepting applicants for next academic year.

Education Committee

The Education Committee advises on EdTA’s professional learning products and projects to best meet teacher needs and participates in reviewing workshop proposals for the International Thespian Festival and teacher Conference.

Main Stage Committee

This working committee facilitates the adjudication process for selecting International Thespian Festival main stage productions, including training adjudicators, evaluating productions, and advising on the rubric.

Thespys® Committee

This committee reviews feedback and makes recommendations for future improvements to the program rules, adjudication training, rubrics, or processes for the Thespy Awards, which recognize the highest level of achievement in school theatre.
