EdTA’s Iowa chapter has chosen its new director: Lynn Jensen will serve a term beginning August 1, 2021, after winning the chapter director election.

Jensen is an EdTA Hall of Fame winner who’s served the association in many capacities during her 36-year teaching career and into retirement. She was on the EdTA board of directors from 2013-2016 and is a previous Iowa chapter director.

Jensen aims to advance Iowa Thespians’ mission by working with the chapter board and volunteers to grow the chapter throughout the state, create a professional development team, and establish a development director for fundraising.

“Iowa Thespians and EdTA are a central part of my history, experience, and passion,” Jensen said in her candidate vitae. “I look forward to building on the legacy of the recent past chapter directors.”

EdTA members should direct any questions about this election to Leadership Development Director Maryann Fiala.

An election for EdTA’s board of directors is currently in progress; members will choose a Vice President/President and two board directors to serve terms beginning July 1, and vote on two proposed code changes. All active adult members have received their ballots by email. If you haven’t yet voted, please review the 2021 Board Election Guide to learn more about the candidates. The board election closes March 17.
