State Advocacy Alliance
Our network of theatre education advocacy champions leads grassroots action to advance the field of theatre education.
Each EdTA chapter has a representative who works at the state level to engage members, partner with state-wide arts and advocacy organizations, and leverage relationships and resources to advance theatre education at the state level. Together, these state representatives form a powerful alliance that moves EdTA’s mission forward.
State Advocacy Goals
The State Advocacy Alliance (SAA) utilizes chapter representation and facilitates individual member opportunities for grassroots advocacy and action. We are launching this new network with a 3-year development plan in place:
- Coalition Building (2025-2026)
- Leveraging (2026-2027)
- Policy (2027-2028)
State Advocacy Network (SAN) Goals (2025-2026):
- Create a chapter in each state.
- Each state builds an advocacy plan – 25-26 Coalition Building.
- Each state has student and/or educator representation at Advocacy Summit.
The goal is for chapters to keep EdTA informed on what your state-level advocacy needs are so that EdTA can provide resources and leverage national support if needed. By doing so, the organization can begin to identify trends across the country that will help us inform EdTA’s federal advocacy agenda.
