The Educational Theatre Association annually awards this $1,000 scholarship to an inducted Thespian who successfully demonstrated leadership abilities. This scholarship was created with donations from and in honor of past and current EdTA Board of Directors presidents. This year’s recipient is Katie Lennon, Troupe 6996, Regis Jesuit High School, Centennial, Colorado.

Lennon plans to major in theatre at the University of Colorado Boulder. Her leadership positions include vice president of her drama club during junior year, president of drama club during senior year, president of Troupe 6996, and director of a student-produced Macbeth, all while achieving a 4.13 GPA. Lennon says, “As president, I see my role as fostering self-empowerment. I have learned not to micromanage but allow Thespians to take responsible creative risks.”
