Goal achieved, campaign doubles down
Member News
The generous response to its Best Gift campaign to raise funds to send a troupe of students to the Thespian Festival has encouraged EdTA to double the campaign goal and try to give even more students the gift of a Festival experience.
As of January 10, the campaign had raised $12,778, almost $3,000 over its original goal of $10,000. The money will be used to cover the cost of attending the Thespian Festival for a troupe that has never participated before, and that is prevented by financial barriers from attending. Now, with three weeks of fundraising remaining, Executive Director Julie Woffington is challenging the organization to keep building the fund.
“We are very gratified by the generosity of our members and friends,” Woffington said. “Contributions came in not just from professional members, but from students, alums, friends and family, staff members, board members, and partner organizations. The example of the people who have contributed so far shows that we can do much more than we thought was possible.”
“The Thespian Festival is such a great experience,” she said, “we want to make it available to as many students as possible. So if you haven’t contributed yet, I hope you will consider making a gift today. Even $25 can make a real difference.”
The campaign continues until February 1, which is also the date on which applications for a Send a Troupe Grant will be made available.
Contributions can be made online here, or mailed to EdTA, Attn: Best Gift, 2343 Auburn Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45219.
Thanks
