EdTA professional membership
EdTA professional membership ($75) was created to provide professional development and support for theatre educators, but membership is available to any person eighteen years or older who is interested in making theatre an important part of lifelong learning. Arts administrators, performers, theatre technicians, college professors, educational outreach coordinators, arts advocates, and librarians are some of the professionals who find a home as members of EdTA.
Professional members join with others who support our efforts to improve the status and quality of theatre education. They also enjoy access to our printed, online, networking, and educational resources.
The benefits of EdTA professional membership include:
- a one-year subscription to Teaching Theatre, a quarterly journal written for the busy educator with practical articles that can be used immediately in your classroom.
- a one-year subscription to Dramatics, a monthly magazine published September through May and written to be used as a resource by teachers and students, both in and out of the classroom.
- special member rates for the EdTA Annual Conference and Professional Development Institute sessions.
- discounts on educational resources sold through EdTA.
- eligibility to apply for grants and nominate colleagues for awards and the EdTA Hall of Fame.
- a voice on Capitol Hill during the Americans for the Arts annual Arts Advocacy Day.
- access to member-only content on the EdTA website.
- special representation with other educational organizations whose objectives are in step with EdTA’s, such as the Arts Education Partnership (AEP), and Americans for the Arts.
- networking opportunities as a member of the largest professional organization representing theatre education.
