All students in grades six through eight, their theatre teachers, and chaperones are welcome at the Junior Thespian Festival. All students must be chaperoned by a registered adult for the entire event. If a school’s theatre teacher cannot attend with their students, another faculty member from the school or a parent may attend in their place. We recommend that you register one chaperone for every eight students.
Theatre directors and students from schools that are unaffiliated with the International Thespian Society are welcome at the Junior Festival. However, nonmember schools with two or more delegates must pay a $75/school charge in addition to other registration fees. This $75 can be applied toward a school’s membership requirements if the school becomes a member of the Thespian Society by June 30, 2015.
Registration for the Junior Thespian Festival will be online once again. Online registration will open in October, 2014 and continue until the event in March, 2015. Each of the registration windows below are “received by” dates, meaning all registration materials—including full payment—must be received by the EdTA national office by the end of that registration window for the rate to be honored.
Each registered delegate will receive an assigned seat in the theatre for main stage productions, access to the wealth of workshops for both students and teachers, entry into the Junior Tech Challenge (for students), an official Junior Thespian Festival 2015 t-shirt, lunch and dinner on each day of the event, and the chance to gain new theatrical resources and ideas in the Junior Thespian Festival’s Exhibit Expo.
