Student leadership program
Any Thespian troupe, state, or provincial officer is eligible to participate in the student leadership training sessions at the Thespian Festival. There is a $60 fee, payable with the student’s other registration fees, before the May 1 registration deadline.
One of the more important items of business of the leadership training sessions is the election of a new slate of International Thespian Officers for the coming year. Any active student member of the Thespian Society who has been elected to a troupe, state, or provincial office and attends the Festival is eligible to run for the ITO. A Thespian who wishes to serve as an international officer must submit a troupe director assessment form completed by his or her troupe director, and a self-assessment form, both of which can be found in the Festival Opportunities Guide. In addition, the candidate must register for leadership training at the Festival.
Six members of the ITO are selected each year: one representative from each of the four EdTA regions, one webmaster/secretary, and a chair/international liaison.
