The Educational Theatre Association’s annual Conference gives educators the opportunity to meet hundreds of theatre professionals during an event filled with workshops, networking lunches, and professional development programming. Conference takes place in the fall with the event changing locations annually.

The Evolving Theatre Classroom

Theatre, like any subject area, needs to be taught by skilled, trained professionals. The annual 2013 EdTA Conference is the perfect opportunity for you to reaffirm and strengthen your skills, knowledge, and commitment to teaching. The Educational Theatre Association offers the most comprehensive professional development opportunities for educators who are engaged in theatre arts education.

This year’s conference, to be held at Minneapolis’s renowned Guthrie Theater, focuses on the rapidly changing educational landscape of 21st-century America. Themed “The Evolving Theatre Classroom,” the EdTA Conference will examine how theatre education can adapt and thrive in an environment of tighter budgets, more rigorous standards, teacher accountability, and developing technology that is changing how students learn. Asked to do more with less, today’s theatre educator must be informed and resourceful to develop the classroom of the future.

At the EdTA Conference, you’ll gain the tools, knowledge, and inspiration you need to lead the charge towards best practices and better learning for your students.
